On April 18, 1521, in Worms, Germany, Martin Luther boldly stood before church authorities and refused to recant any of his writings. This key Reformation event shook the world and changed the course of history. Today we recognize that we are the beneficiaries of his courageous stance.
Our upcoming Bible study, based on the short film Here We Stand, revisits this groundbreaking event and relates it to our beliefs as Lutherans today. This four-lesson study explores the foundational truths Luther stood for: grace, the royal priesthood of believers, Scripture alone, and serving others in Christian freedom. We will be challenged to think of what these truths mean for our faith. As we do, we can’t help but thank God for the blessings we have received from Luther’s act of courage five hundred years ago!
Please join us in the Fellowship Hall at 9am on Sunday mornings for this engaging study! If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Shrimpton.
