Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod
Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church is member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The WELS is the third largest American Lutheran denomination, with more than 1,200 congregations located throughout the United States and portions of Canada. The WELS also carries out mission work in over 20 countries around the world. The WELS web page is filled with news about our synod, Bible study materials, ministry resources, and other useful and interesting information.
WELS Arizona-California District
Our congregation is located in the Arizona-California District of the WELS. Our district's web page provides information to called workers and laity within and beyond the district regarding the work that the district carries out in the name of our Savior.
Northwestern Publishing House
Northwestern Publishing House is the official publication company of the WELS. The NPH store is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The NPH store and internet site offer Bible-related materials and church resources to WELS pastors, teachers, and church members, as well as to the general public.
Evangelical Lutheran Synod
The Evangelical Lutheran Synod is a "sister synod" of the WELS. The WELS and ELS are two distinct church bodies that share a common confession of faith and a common commitment to faithfully proclaim and defend the teachings of the Scriptures. The ELS headquarters are located in Mankato, Minnesota.

What About Jesus
This site is designed to present the gospel message about Jesus Christ to people who are not Christians. Developed by the WELS Commission on Evangelism, this site promotes the Christian faith in a non-threatening way to those who may want to learn more about Christianity.
Truth in Love to Mormons
The members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Nampa, Idaho have developed this website as part of their congregation’s outreach efforts in a part of the country where many Mormons live. Many of the resources available on this site are a result of the work Rev. Mark Cares, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church and author of the book Speaking the Truth in Love to Mormons.
Schools
Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary
Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, located just north of Milwaukee in Mequon, Wisconsin, has faithfully provided WELS congregations with pastors for several generations. The purpose of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary is to offer theological training for men who desire to enter the pastoral ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of churches within its confessional fellowship. The seminary also endeavors in various ways to offer opportunity for theological and professional growth to men who already are active in the pastoral ministry of its confessional fellowship.
Martin Luther College
Martin Luther College exists to serve the ministerial needs of the WELS by preparing men for pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and by preparing men and women for service as teachers and staff ministers in the Synod's churches and schools. The MLC campus is located in New Ulm, Minnesota.
Wisconsin Lutheran College
Wisconsin Lutheran College, affiliated with the WELS, is a Lutheran liberal arts college for Christian men and women. WLC is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bethany Lutheran College
Bethany Lutheran College is a private, residential, Christian, coeducational, liberal arts college founded in 1927. BLC is located in Mankato, Minnesota, and is owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, the sister synod of the WELS.
California Lutheran High School
The members of Gloria Dei Church have been strong supporters of Christian education, including the Christian secondary education offered at California Lutheran High School, located in Wildomar, California.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary and Luther Preparatory School
WELS operates two preparatory high school with the purpose of preparing young men and women for a future as full-time ministers in the teaching, pastoral, or other areas of ministry in our congregation. Michigan Lutheran Seminary is located in Saginaw, MI and Luther Preparatory School is located in Watertown, WI.
