This summer will introduce a lot of changes to Gloria Dei’s ministry. I wanted to spend just a couple of moments outlining them for you.
Gloria Dei’s school ministry will come to a close. After 50 years of offering full-time Christian Education to families on the Peninusla, largely external demographic factors have made operation of our elementary school an impossibility. The 2019-2020 school year will be our final year of school.
Retooling our Bible Camp programs. Our Bible camps and school ministries have been deeply intertwined from the beginning, and the ending of our school ministry is going to require investigation and reinvention into our Bible Camp program. We will plan to have our Spring Bible Camp program on April 4, but we will not have our Summer Bible Camp this coming June as originally planned. We will be exploring options to retool that summer program in a way that makes sense for our congregation and neighbors for Sumer 2021. Watch here for more information in the months ahead.
Continued focus on sharing God’s forgiving love. It is possible that a good potions of the externals of ministry at Gloria Dei will be tweaked and adjusted as we enter into the next chapter of our ministry. What will not change is Gloria Dei’s dedication to God’s Word and sharing the message of God’s free and forgiving love for all to all. We will be exploring new options and opportunities to build up our family of believers who call Gloria Dei their church home and exploring how we might better serve those living around us in Belmont and our surrounding communities with that all-important message of God’s forgiveness in Jesus.
